1. A Blink of the Screen: Collected Shorter Fiction by Terry Pratchett (Doubleday, fiction, on sale now)

What it's about: Short stories and other short fiction from the fantasy writer who died March 12 at age 66.

The buzz: A nice goodbye gift to fans from the Discworld series author. (Blink's release this month was scheduled before Pratchett's death.)

2. Billie Holiday: The Musician and the Myth by John Szwed (Viking, non-fiction, on sale March 31)

What it's about: The lady who sang the blues gets a new biography timed to the 100th anniversary of her birth (April 7).

The buzz: "Elegant and perceptive," says Kirkus Reviews.

3. At the Water's Edge by Sara Gruen (Spiegel & Grau, fiction, on sale March 31)

What it's about: A young Philadelphia socialite follows her husband to the Scottish highlands during World War II, in search of the Loch Ness Monster.

The buzz: It's an Indie Next pick of independent booksellers. "Another spellbinding tale from the author of Water for Elephants," says Jill Miner of Saturn Booksellers in Gaylord, Mich.

4. The Complete Poetry by Maya Angelou (Random House, fiction, on sale March 31)

What it's about: Poetry by the popular writer (Angelou died last year) who delivered a poem at President Clinton's first inauguration in 1993.

The buzz: Includes a never-before-published poem, "Amazement Awaits," commissioned for the 2008 Olympic Games.

5. The Patriot Threat by Steve Berry (Minotaur, fiction, on sale March 31)

What it's about: New thriller finds hero Cotton Malone pursuing a rogue North Korean who might have sensitive U.S Treasury files.

The buzz: The last Malone novel, The Lincoln Myth, hit No. 6 on USA TODAY's Best-Selling Books list last year.
