Next up: Wisconsin Farm Technology Days

The next major farm show in the state will be Wisconsin Farm Technology Days. This year’s show will be in Dane County where Heidi Johnson is U.W. Extension Crops and Soils Agent and Executive Director for the show.

Statz Brothers Farm of Sun Prairie is the host this year, by the show they will be milking around 4,000 cows in a new, double-50 parlor. Johnson says they are still devising the tours of the dairy operation but hope to show one of the free stall barns, the anaerobic digester and the parlor.

The show is later than usual, August 25, 26 and 27 to allow for the field demonstrations to include corn silage harvesting.  They will also do hay and tiling on some wheat ground.
