The Lions hosted Florida State defensive lineman Mario Edwards Jr. on a pre-draft visit Wednesday.

Edwards is 6-foot-3 and 279 pounds and can play defensive tackle or end. He had 3.5 sacks and 9.5 tackles for loss for the Seminoles last year.

He performed well at the combine for his size with a 4.84-second 40-yard dash, 32 reps on the bench press and a 120-inch broad jump. ESPN ranks him as a likely Day 2 pick and the No. 10 defensive end in the draft, but the Lions are likely looking at him as a tackle.

The Lions will be in the market for defensive line help in the draft with top tackles Ndamukong Suh, Nick Fairley and C.J. Mosley all set to be unrestricted free agents.
