So long Pawnee, hello BookCon. Nick Offerman, who plays Ron Swanson on Parks and Recreation — which airs its final episode tonight at 10 p.m. ET on NBC — will promote his new book at the second annual BookCon in New York on May 30.

He'll take part in a panel along with John Hodgman (of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart) to banter about Gumption: Relighting the Torch of Freedom with America's Gutsiest Troublemakers (Dutton, on sale May 26).

In Gumption, Offerman writes about Americans he admires, from George Washington and Teddy Roosevelt to Wendell Berry and Yoko Ono.

The man with the mustache is also the author of the humorous Paddle Your Own Canoe: One Man's Fundamentals for Delicious Living.

This is the second year of BookCon, which is open to the ticket-buying public, and which comes on the heels BookExpo America, an industry trade show that attracts thousands of publishing professionals and booksellers.

Last year's inaugural BookCon featured an event with Amy Poehler, Offerman's Parks and Rec pal, who was promoting her fall 2014 book, Yes Please.
