1. Girl in a Band by Kim Gordon (Dey Street, non-fiction, on sale Feb. 24)

What it's about: The frontwoman of alt-rock band Sonic Youth, whose new group is Body/Head, tells her story.

The buzz: Aside from Patti Smith, few women in rock have joined all the guys (Keith Richards, Billy Idol, Joe Perry, Neil Young, to name a few) writing their memoirs.

2. Shame and the Captives by Thomas Keneally (Atria, fiction, on sale Feb. 24)

What it's about: Historical fiction by the author of Schindler's List, based on the 1944 breakout of Japanese POWs in Cowra, Australia.

The buzz: "No one equals Keneally for documenting the actions of human beings caught up in war," says Publishers Weekly.

3. Hush Hush by Laura Lippman (William Morrow, fiction, on sale Feb. 24)

What it's about: Baltimore sleuth Tess Monaghan returns for the first time since 2011's The Girl in the Green Raincoat as a new mom drawn into a case involving infanticide.

The buzz: "Suspenseful … an incisive and provocative tale," says Booklist.

4. Eat, Play, Sleep by Luiza DeSouza (Atria, non-fiction, on sale Feb. 24)

What it's about: The subtitle describes it: The Essential Guide to Your Baby's First Three Months.

The buzz: Baby nurse DeSouza counts among her Hollywood clients Ryan Murphy (Glee); CBS CEO Leslie Moonves and his wife, The Talk host Julie Chen; and Cindy Crawford, who wrote the foreword.

5. Future Crime by Marc Goodman (Doubleday, non-fiction, on sale Feb. 24)

What it's about: A cybersecurity expert examines our vulnerability as individuals in a digital age.

The buzz: "A powerful wake-up call to pay attention to our online lives," says Kirkus Reviews.
