The team at Gasoline has done it again. Creating the brand identity and packaging for skin care line Iraa, a clean, bright and beautiful design – adjectives that can also be used when talking about the end result of using skin care products. “The brand identity for Iraa draws inspiration from sacred geometry as seen abundantly in nature, specifically in a flower.”The flower symbol is inspired by the pattern of a mandala, which is composed of 72 petals that come together in symmetry to represent a ‘Zen’ state-of-mind. This creates a brand mark that is visual depiction of the geometric perfection found in natural elements

“Iraa stands at the intersection of nature and science, the design strategy entailed developing a scientifically-driven, clinical and yet, a contemporary and sophisticated feel for the brand.”The design team at Gasoline adopted a clean and minimalist typographic approach to complement the flower symbol's complexity. A bright, but widely varied color palette was used sparingly against a predominately white aesthetic. “Taking the depth of the cosmetic range into consideration, care was taken to create demarcation between the sub-brands with the use of a single dominant colour and the use of bold descriptors which spelled out the product ingredients, thereby distinguishing one product from the other while still constituting a part of a range.”

Beautiful in it’s simplicity and successful in the overall concept of science and nature meeting. I would be happy looking at these pretty products on my bathroom shelf.
