Lush Cupid's Love Soap

One thing I have learned from being a beauty blogger is you can't love all of the products, all of the time, even if you are easily pleased. As much as I am enjoying Lush's Valentine's Day collection one product that I haven't been able to get on board with is Lush Cupid's Love Soap. Now don't get me wrong the formulation as always is top notch but the fragrance is a little bizarre...

"This unique soap has an uplifting, fruity fragrance. Bergamot and rosewood work together to create a rich scent, whilst fresh figs, passion fruit juice and soya yoghurt nourish and soften the skin."

Lush Cupid's Love Soap in terms of fragrance most likely slots into the fruity yet floral category but something doesn't quite gel - the notes of passionfruit, fig and bergamot compete for attention and don't mesh. The scent misses the mark, it isn't balanced and not fruity nor floral enough to reel me in. Hey you can't win them all and everyone is a critic. Scent aside I can not fault the soap, it lathers beautifully, cleanses the skin (I used it in place of a shower gel and then as a hand soap) without drying out the skin and is safe even for those who suffer from sensitivities.  The one thing I will state and stress is that you really should pop in store and give this the sniff test before purchasing. I have a sneaky feeling this will be the Marmite product; you'll either love or loathe it in terms of scent anyway.
