Happy Thursday, dear friends. My computer has been in critical condition for some time. I had to put ice packs on it to get it to perform even the most basic functions. While it became a running joke to my family, it was extremely difficult to get anything done in a timely fashion.
Yesterday, I got a surprise package from my beloved husband. It contained a brand-spanking new laptop. He told me he didn’t want me to wait until Christmas to open it, because he knows how hard I have been working lately. He wanted to ease my frustration levels, and he certainly did that.
The laptop runs on a completely different operating system than I am used to. At first, I was scared, and truth be told, a bit angry that I had to learn a whole new way of doing things. But then I took a breath and realized that, like any new thing, I would learn it and be better off.
I think we will all experience a bit of that, as we move into the new 5D operating system. It might be a pain to learn new ways of doing things, but the benefits will far outweigh that uncomfortable feeling. Soon we will all be rocking on Nova Gaia, and all the discomfort will be forgotten!
Today we focus on some major news in Cuban-American relations and then we jump around from there, so let’s get started.
The US announces national policy changes related to Cuba.
When I first got married and moved into a new home, our neighbor was Cuban. He had fled, with his family, to the US, in the wake of the communist takeover of his homeland. His mother, spoke of the extreme red tape she had to go through in order to visit her family members that remained behind. She also spoke of the deep sadness she felt due to the separation, and her inability to help them with their basic needs.
On Wednesday, President Obama announced that efforts to normalize relations between Cuba and the US were underway. A majority of US citizens believe that relations between the two countries should be revised. Official ties with Cuba were broken off, after Fidel Castro came to power and set up a communist government in the island nation.
One stumbling block to normalizing relations, was the detainment of political prisoners on both sides of the fence. Cuba had been holding one alleged spy for almost 20 years. They were also holding Alan Gross, an American contractor who provided computer equipment to the Jewish community in Havana, and was prosecuted as a spy. The US was detaining 5 political prisoners, since 1998, for spying on Miami-based Cuban freedom groups.
The two countries finally agreed to release the prisoners, and this opens the way for negotiations to develop a more friendly diplomatic relationship.

Los Angeles, California to purchase on-body cameras for police force.
In the wake of recent controversial police actions, that have sparked massive protest throughout the US, the mayor of Los Angeles announced that the city would be purchasing 7,000 on-body cameras for its police force.
The use of on-body cameras was championed by Michael Brown’s family, in their statements related to his death in Ferguson, Missouri. The use of the cameras is projected to protect individuals from aggressive police actions, because all of the interactions will be taped. They will also provide visual proof that officers have acted within the law, in the execution of their duties. Hopefully more municipalities will follow suit, as a first step in repairing the public’s lack of trust in law enforcement.
The world’s fastest camera may be used to study invisibility cloaks.
A research team, led by Lihon Wang at Washington University in St. Louis, has perfected a process called Compressed Ultrafast Photography (CUP). This cutting edge technology will be used to create a camera that captures 100 billion frames per second. This breakthrough could increase the magnitude of camera speed one hundred-fold.
Researchers will now be able to track time and space multi-dimensionally. Previously, they could only track one or the other. They believe this technology will advance the burgeoning field of cloaking development, once thought to be in the realm of Star Trek.
Using a complex procedure, researchers can now see how light interacts with objects. They can also tell if the light passes through or goes around the object. Light going around an object, is an indication that cloaking may be employed. Partnering with large scale space observatory platforms, such as the Hubble telescope, could propel space study forward at light speed. They also see applications in observing high-speed body processes, quantum interactions and telecommunications.

And finally…
A small kindness can grow over the years.
Many of us have been doing small acts of kindness our whole lives. Some of us, have even been the beneficiary of such gifts of the heart. I remember a number of years ago, when my husband was unemployed, we received an anonymous envelop with gift cards to a department store. We never found out who sent that gift, but it gave us the opportunity to buy Christmas presents for our daughters. I will never forget that kindness, and it inspires me to do all I can for others.
This beautiful video, out of Thailand, shows how a small act of kindness can multiply over the years. When goodness is sent out, it often comes back around when we least expect it.
