Job Title: Regional Treasurer
To manage the Treasury Team (Balance Sheet Management and Treasury Execution) incorporating the following management actions:
- Hiring and retaining the Best People
- Ensuring Treasury has sufficient human resources to deliver on regulatory, operational and customer commitments;
- Managing the team Performance Development process to ensure measurement against business objectives and to address non-performance;
- Implementing strategies to ensure that the business unit attracts, retains and develops talent;
- Establishing and maintaining a succession plan for key roles in the Treasury;
- Driving the negotiation of Service level Agreements with supporting business unit heads (Corporate, Credit, Operations, Risk and Finance) with the focus on performance turn around;
- Driving a culture of proactive compliance and risk management within the team.To fully understand and remain up to date on all legislation and regulatory changes guiding the treasury business;To maintain excellent working relationship with the regulators;To Take Ownership of the Principal Risks – Capital, Liquidity and Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book;
To evaluate the status of Operational and Principal Risks, and complete the required attestations on a quarterly basis;
To ensure the following as a member of the country management team:
- Full attendance at :- Board, CMC, Credit Committee, Alco, Treasury Investment Committee (as chairperson) and ad-hoc committees and forums as required by the country Chief Executive and as prescribed by country regulations;
- Active contribution to bank strategy initiatives;
- Ensuring an effective working relationship with fellow members of the country management team, and especially with the heads of Corporate and Retail.
