Toni Morrison has a new novel due in April.

This might just be enough to make Oprah Winfrey resurrect her seemingly moribund Oprah 2.0 Book Club.

A new novel from Nobel Prize winner Toni Morrison is coming from Knopf on April 30, titled God Help the Child.

Sonny Mehta, chairman and editor in chief of the Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group, called the book as brave as anything Morrison has ever written. "It is a compact, fierce work of contemporary fiction, one that unfolds in the aftermath of an allegation made by a student about a teacher," Mehta said in a statement.

The novel begins: "It's not my fault. So you can't blame me. I didn't do it and have no idea how it happened."

Morrison's last work of fiction was 2012's Home, about a Korean War veteran battling racism.

Morrison, 83, was a favorite of Winfrey's wildly influential original book club. The then talk-show host picked a Morrison book four times, making each a best seller: Song of Solomon; Paradise; The Bluest Eye and Sula.
