Do You Wear A Bra At Home?

First pap smears. Now bras. Yep, Beautyholics Anonymous is going down a bit of the TMI route. But really, why not? After all, most of us here are ladies, right? And yes, ladies of this day and age will talk about pap smears and bras. ๐Ÿ˜›

The answer to today’s question may seem rather obvious to a lot of you and to me, it is a no-brainer but not what you might think. Do you wear a bra when you’re at home?

I’ve been watching a lot of YouTube videos lately and there’s a particular tag that’s going around called the Me Time Tag, which was created by Essiebutton and Amelia Liana. There’s a question that asks “What do you wear during me-time?” and that question was hashtagged with #nobra. The consensus of these videos and the comments are that once you’re home, the bra is off.

See, for me, I can’t do it. I definitely wear a bra at home; in fact, I feel naked without one. It’s strange, of course, given that I’m pretty much on my own at home during the day but nope, the bra has to stay on. I’ve heard friends saying that once they’re home from work, the bra has to come off. I just couldn’t do it at all. ๐Ÿ˜›

Before moving to Australia, I lived with my folks and brother even when I started working and it would be one heck of an awkward situation if I’m walking around bra-less. When I moved here after I got married, the only time the bra came off was after my evening shower (which could be from 8-10pm). This means that I pretty much have a bra on all day.

The thing is, it really doesn’t bother me at all. If the bra is that uncomfortable for me to feel constricted, that’s one bad bra which tells me it’s time to change to another one. Mind you, I don’t have big boobs but not wearing one makes them feel, erm, hanging. If you know what I mean. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I think the only times I actually am bra-less at home during the day is when I’m sick. Other than that, the bra definitely stays on. You know what they say about people working from home, and that to separate their home-time and work-time, they should put on some nice work clothes even though they’re technically at home? My version would be my bra. ๐Ÿ˜›

I’m very interested to hear what you think. Do you go bra-less when you’re at home?

Oh yes! Oftentimes that puppy comes off before my clothes do!

LOL! The puppy comes off to release 2 more! KAKAKAKA! #lamejoke

Similar to you! My bra stays on all day until I put my evening clothes on (it feels very Downton Abbey ๐Ÿ˜‰ )… aka a pj. I work evenings and couldn’t go without a bra on!

Hahaha I totally get what you mean! PJs means no bra. But other than that, gotta have it on. ๐Ÿ˜›

Oh I most definitely do not wear a bra when I’m at home. Actually, I used to be in one 24/7 when I was living with my parents, but after I began living on my own and started going bra-less (mostly to save myself a laundry load, cos yep, I’m that lazy!), it became a habit. Now I still go about without a bra when I’m alone with my boyfriend, sometimes even my sister, but definitely not with my parents around (an Asian thing, ya think?) because I have pretty prominent nips which makes it really obvious when I’m not wearing one (okay, officially TMI but internet-anonymity ftw!). But anyway, I’ve found that a pretty good compromise would be bras without underwire, still pretty comfy but enough to keep things modest. ๐Ÿ˜€

HAHAHAHAHA save on laundry! Even though I still have the bra on, I totally get what you mean. ๐Ÿ˜› Oh I SO GET WHAT YOU MEAN! By the prominent nips, I mean. TMI AND you know who I am. Hah! ๐Ÿ˜›

Omg…you asked the right question. I totally love to go braless. It makes me feel so comfortable but when u tall about hanging, they say that bra prevents the gravity tug so they are more in shape that way!

That’s why I keep mine on! I’m not going to let gravity win so quickly!

I’ll do you one better – I wear a bra to sleep! It’s a cotton sports bra so it’s pretty comfy. My girls need support!

LOL Tine! I hear you! I am a 50% bra wearer at home. I work from home, like you, so I’ve gotten into the habit of getting dressed even if I may not have plans to head out (but with a toddler I would most likely go for a stroll or to the park later in the day). If I do know I’m heading out, I put on my bra when I get dressed in the morning because that’s when the husband can watch our baby. If I leave it till later, I wouldn’t have time to change or put on some light makeup. But the bra def stays off when I’m still in my PJs in the morning and after my shower at night. Though I’ve to say, when I was breastfeeding, I wore a nursing bra through the night so I was in a bra 24/7 except in the shower. It was horrible – for 10 months! But I had to because without a bra, there would be serious leakage and it was cold during the time I was breastfeeding. #tmi? LOL!

Oh but of course, breastfeeding doesn’t count on the account of, erm, leakage. ๐Ÿ˜›
I’m always worried to go bra-less during the day especially if the doorbell rings and I need to go out to get the mail or something. My arms are always covering the chest area in case the highlights decide to turn on for any reason. I have a feeling the couriers now know it’s because I don’t have a bra on. Geez, I’m really that obvious! :O

I definitely wear a bra most of the time. If it’s an uncomfortable bra, I get rid of itโ€ฆ But I don’t really feel comfortable without one, even though I am small-chested and no-one would probably know. It just feels weird to me to walk around nekkid.

    1. Tine

Haha me too! I feel the same! Uncomfortable bra? Get a new one. ๐Ÿ˜›

  8. Mardi

I can’t go braless, it hurts to have them sagging and dangling! But I change into a soft bra in the evening, and I also sleep in it, unless I’m wearing a nightie with a shelf bra. (Oh the glamour of my life lol)

    1. Tine

Hahaha that’s reality. I don’t think anyone’s life is 100% glamourous. I read somewhere about a bra where you can actually wear to sleep (can’t remember the name nor the link). It’s a soft bra that looks like one but not really. It’s like a sports bra but there are no cups!

  9. Lexie

No! I hate hate hate going braless. The only time I don’t wear a bra is when I’m swimming or sleeping, or if a dress just doesn’t permit wearing a bra with it.

Me too! I’m so used to it that it really doesn’t bother me at all if I have it on during the day. I feel naked without it!

As soon as I walk in the door the girls go free!! They need to breath and be free!

    1. Tine

      Hahahaha let ’em breathe! ๐Ÿ˜€

#YesToBra, and furthermore, yes to pjs and bra! I can’t do the no bra thing, I feel like if I let gravity in control of the situation, my boobs will fall by the time I’m forty (and that milestone is not that far!). I can’t let gravity win, Tine. BTW, my sleeping bra is soft and has no wires, it’s just to keep the girls in place.

High five on not letting gravity win! While I don’t sleep with a bra, once I get out of bed, the bra goes on. Unless I’m sick, then it will stay off. It just feels, er, droopy without wearing one even at home!
