Oribe Supershine Moisturising Cream Review

Sure the most spoken about Oribe product is the Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray which I have heard nothing but praise for. Truthfully as someone with naturally wild hair such product was never really on my radar - why add to the problem? I was however swayed by Oribe Supershine Moisturising Cream while in my local Space.NK. Why? Anything that promises to tame frizz, flyaway's and moisturise my dry locks is going to grab my attention. Sure amped up leave in conditioners are a dime a dozen but I am pleased to say that for my hair type this does all it says on the tin and more.

"A luxe reinvention of leave-in conditioner, this supreme cream satisfies the thirstiest hair, calming frizz, elevating shine and restoring hair to supernatural softness. Especially loved by medium-to-thick and extra-long hair. Work into wet hair. Blowout or dry naturally. Use on strays throughout the day."

If ever there was a product created with my hair in mind it was Oribe Supershine Moisturising Cream. Medium to thick hair? Check. Dry hair? Check. Extra long hair? Guess what? Check! I'm not typically a fan of hair product in general but leave in conditioner is an essential product for me, I use it for extra hydration, to tame frizz and to de-tangle. Most de-tangle and add extra moisture but lack where frizz is concerned. As someone with naturally wavy/curly hair I do rather enjoy salon blow dry's as my hair has that certain swish factor (yes I really typed that) as well as looking sleek, glossy and soft to the touch. The texture will perhaps surprise some - it is light and loose, perhaps the best way I can aptly describe it is to compare it to the consistency of a body lotion. It is quickly absorbed by my dry/coarse hair and I'd be lying if I didn't say it smells anything short of wonderful.

How easily is that to re-create at home? Honestly near impossible but I will say that Oribe Supershine Moisturising Cream is the closest I have come relying on my own devices. I like that with heat you can create super sleek locks using a paddle brush in no time, the hair doesn't look or feel dry nor weighed down. It also doesn't hurt that I personally find that Oribe Supershine Moisturising Cream has a certain amount of grip meaning my hair stays straight the full day - if you have curly/wavy hair you will understand my dilemma. It is also one of the few products that I own in which I can use without heat for more defined waves without it turning my hair crispy, greasy or lank. Frizz? What frizz. I kid you not even in the infamous Glasgow drizzle my hair remained frizz free. Yes it is pricey but if you need more from a leave in conditioner it is well worth the investment. If it helps soften the blow a little goes a long way, I only purchased the travel size to see how I got on. Two months later and I have just under half a tube left. Not bad at all.
