  1. Thanks for posting this! I had no idea that they had kits for older kids. My daughter is 9 and my son is about to turn 12 and I thought they were too old for this, but thanks to you I now know differently! I ordered one for each! I too, am looking for more experiential gifts this holiday season. Happy Holidays.

    1. Cindy, it worked for me on the Tinker Crate and the Doodle Crate. I had to select “Get it” I think instead of “Gift it”.

  2. Will they come shipped to my house and then I can give them as a gift or do they ship directly to the recipient and I just gibe a card that says they’ll get a box?

    1. I think you could do either. My recommendation would be to ship right to the recipient since the $7.95 includes free shipping.

  3. We got our first tinker crate almost a month ago! So cool. My boys were tiring of the Kiwi crates, but at 8 and 6 the tinker crate is a bigger challenge and a good project to do together. I no longer get two, and hope that it encourages cooperation to complete the projects. 🙂

  4. Thanks for sharing, I love these kinds of gifts and deals! FYI, this discount is only good for your first month regardless of how long of a subscription you choose. Thought I could get a 6 month membership at a 60% discount, but it only took the discount off the first month. I’m usually slow with this stuff, so in case there are others like me I thought I would share 😉

    1. Yes, it for the first month’s subscription. Thank you for pointing that out! So glad you were able to take advantage of the deal.

  5. Hi Jessjca,
My kids are in the same age group and I’m wondering if you know if people get 2 boxes, 1 per child or do the boxes have enough in them for the kids to share? Thanks!

    1. People do a variety of things. For our family, we would just share the Kiwi Crate. Some projects lend themselves to being better for sharing, while others definitely do not. They do offer a sibling add-on, which is also an option! I think two crates would probably be overkill. I would recommend trying the single crate for a few months, and if the sharing isn’t going well, doing the add on.
