Winter-fall-winter in Wisconsin

Ethan Giebel harvest

Snow and temperatures in the single-digits slowed harvest activity in Wisconsin last week. Frost did allow some manure hauling.  The weekend warm-up melted what had been a significant snow cover over much of the state but then winter returned on Monday.

There was a little progress combining corn, 73 percent of the corn-for-grain is in the bin, a 9-point improvement over a week ago but still 13 points behind the five-year average. Moisture is still averaging 21 percent.

The soybean harvest is now 95 percent complete, a two-point improvement from a week ago.
