Good week for corn, soybean inspections

USDA reports corn and soybean export inspections for the week ending November 20 were above what’s needed weekly to meet USDA projections for the 2014/15 marketing year, while wheat missed the mark.

Wheat came out at 447,353 tons, up 304,809 from the week ending November 13 and 104,529 higher than the week ending November 21, 2013. For the 2014/15 marketing year to date, wheat inspections are 11,866,525 tons, compared to 17,515,755 in 2013/14.

Corn was reported at 529,801 tons, 120,589 more than the previous week, but 239,422 less than this time last year. So far this marketing year, corn inspections are 8,325,431 tons, compared to 7,239,543 a year ago.

Soybeans were pegged at 2,784,913 tons, 342,402 below the all-time high set the week before, but 951,260 more than last year. At this point in the marketing year, soybean inspections are 19,410,098 tons, compared to 15,999,218 a year ago.

Sorghum inspections totaled 130,435 tons. That’s a decrease of 49,534 tons on the week, but an increase of 66,504 on the year. 2014/15 sorghum inspections are 1,933,780 tons, compared to 833,440 in 2013/14.
