UPDATE: Manson Camp Denies Wedding-Registry Claims

Over at vocativ, Molly Fitzpatrick reports that the "Manson camp" (her phrase) is denying reports like these that Manson and his 26-year-old fiancée, who were recently issued a marriage license, have registered at Bed, Bath, & Beyond, or anywhere else for that matter.

That may very well be true, although other statements out of the Manson camp—which is probably limited at this point to his 26-year-old fiancée—are not necessarily what one would call credible.

Molly says she reached out to the webmaster of MansonDirect.com for comment on the matter. That's something I should have done, too, but at the time I was perusing that website (which I did) I hadn't yet thought of checking wedding registries. When I did think of that and found one, I then got all excited and forgot about MansonDirect entirely. Anyway, the report says that the webmaster—who is in fact Manson's 26-year-old fiancée herself—said that the registries are "ABSOLUTELY" not her doing. They certainly aren't Manson's, because he is not allowed to use the internet. She is fairly good at that, apparently running several websites on his behalf. But she does deny having registered them, so now you have that side of the story.

I was going to mention a couple other things about MansonDirect before I got distracted, so let's talk about those now. First, while the site takes the position that Manson is not guilty, and I was eager to find out why, that part of the site is unfortunately "under construction." An update is said to be coming soon. Second, the site also reports on "The Savior," which, it turns out, is a gun Manson has invented that shoots "seed balls" made of clay, compost, and seeds, "to help renew and restore degraded land areas." Until now mankind has been limited to Stone Age methods like actually putting seeds in the ground and watering them, but that is all in the past now.

Also, the site says its purpose is to provide accurate information about Manson (again, update coming soon), "and to present Manson's spoken and written words in truth, without interference or manipulation." The good news is that she takes that mission literally (although she does fix spelling errors, which I will not). Charlie was always good for a crazy quote, if nothing else, and he's clearly still got it. Here's one chosen completely at random:

When I git my academy award Ill dress like a moth—& the flees & ants will be there with ALL the Roches Spiders Scorpions butterflys bees worms & bugs of all & a few snaks birds & even my horse will be there in heaven with who HA HA HA

Sounds rehabilitated to me. I just hope she lets him write the wedding vows.
