Social media moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. In order to help you keep up, the team here at SME Digital has distilled the biggest stories of the past week into one easy to digest chunk.

Screenshot 2014-10-30 15.42.53The NFL has been making social media headlines this week. Excited about his first start, rookie quarterback Zach Mettenberger posted several pregame selfies of his new hairdo. Come game time, J.J. Watt added insult to injury by taking a mock celebratory selfie after sacking the QB.

In an attempt to be liked outside of Boston, Tom Brady has harnessed the power of Photoshop to create hilarious, semi-self-deprecating photos for his Facebook page.

Joining thousands of people who weren’t laughing, Janay Rice responded to a TMZ tweet featuring a photo of a man dressed as her husband, Ray Rice, dragging a blow-up doll. The former NFL star has extended an open invitation to anyone in a “Ray Rice” Halloween costume to meet him in an elevator.

Speaking of tasteless Halloween costumes, the hottest new item is the “Sexy Ebola Nurse” containment suit. Hopefully it also comes with a 21-day quarantine.

From the iconic “leg lamp” to a life-sized Foosball player, motivational speaker and Paralympic star Josh Sundquist makes the most of his disability with clever Halloween costumes. These costumes are so perfect, it almost makes you wish you had one leg.

In a new editorial for Bloomberg Businessweek, Apple CEO Tim Cook publically announced that he is gay. This news led Apple users to say “Awesome. So when will the Apple Watch be released?”

There was something special in the air when Vine prankster, Jerome Jarre found himself questioned by the police after an American Airlines flight. Evidently a trending hashtag is enough to get the TSA to chill out.

Finally, yet another viral video from the new King of Late Night has everybody rolling. Neither Jimmy Fallon nor his guest, Bradley Cooper, could keep a straight face during a discussion about The Elephant Man. Enjoy.
