When I agreed to review Deadly Dozen I had no idea it would be 12 full length mystery and thriller novels!   While I am totally excited to read each and every one of the books in this set, I was only able to read two of them before posting this review.   I also read a snippet of two of the other books.

Deadly Dozen-A collection of 12 Mystery/Thrillers

The first book I read was The Bridgeman.  The Bridgeman takes place in a school which immediately caputred my attention since I teach in a school.   The custodian is found dead in the basement and it’s obviously a case of murder.   The small town where the school is located hasn’t had a murder in a very long time.  When Emily begins reading Nat’s diary, she starts learning things about the small town where she lives.   I was on the edge of my seat until the end and wasn’t able to figure out who did it in this thrilling novel.

The other book I read was Innocent Little Crimes.   I enjoyed this book because while it had a familiar storyline, there were some new twists to it.  The main character, Lila, is currently a rich and powerful woman.   However, when she was in high school she was unpopular and had a group of people she thought were her friends play a mean trick on her.   All these years later now that she has the money and the means she’s ready to take her revenge.  Lila invites her former classmates to her home and forces them to play a horrible little game that gets out of control when one of them winds up dead.   Did Lila go to far and kill her classmate?   Or is one of the other classmates the killer?

I’m excited to read the rest of the books in this collection and hope to do so by the end of the year.  I think this would be a great holiday gift for any mystery or thriller lover since there are so many different books in the collection and each is very different from the others.

I give this book collection 4 out of 5 stars.
