Vegetarian and vegan diets can provide enough nutrients. Generally, vegetarians don’t eat meat but consume other animal products. Vegans eat no animal products. Andrea Giancolli is a Registered Dietitian with the Beach Cities Health District, says those meat-free diets can supply all nutritional needs if they are carefully planned and adhered to. She says extra considerations must be made in the case of pregnant women who follow those diets, especially, the vegan diet.
