Shots fired at Fort Carson, Pentagon confirms

FORT CARSON,, Colo. — A senior Pentagon official told KOAA-TV in Colorado Springs that there was a report of shots fired inside Fort Carson Monday night.

A spokesperson for the base had stated the post was placed on lockdown. However, KUSA-TV has since learned that people were allowed to enter, just not exit the base.

Social media chatter indicating an active shooter on the base is not true, according to public affairs officer on post.

No other details were immediately available.
