Illinois corn, soybean crops good, but behind normal

The Illinois corn harvest continues, but progress is behind normal. Precipitation statewide was behind normal at a little over a half inch for the week.  Fifty-six percent of Illinois corn is mature and the harvest is 6 percent complete, 17 percentage points behind the 5-year average. The crop is 83 percent good to excellent. About 45 percent of the soybeans are dropping leaves, up 25 percentage points from last week.  The soybean crop is 76 percent good to excellent.  The sorghum crop is 46 percent mature.  Illinois pastures are 71 percent good to excellent. Topsoil moisture is 94 percent adequate to surplus.
