Ohio crop conditions decline slightly

According to the latest weekly crop and weather report, crop conditions in Ohio declined slightly over the last week.   As of Sunday, 76 percent of corn and 71 percent of soybeans are reported in good to excellent condition.

Eighty-six percent of the corn crop has dented, 27 percent is mature with 2 percent of corn harvested for grain and 47 percent harvested for silage.  The average moisture content for harvested grain is 25 percent.

Forty-eight percent of soybeans are dropping leaves and just 1 percent of the crop is harvested.

Topsoil moisture for the state is 82 percent adequate to surplus.
