Pals Guest Stamper Nicole Watt

Nicolewatt_091914

While I’m in St. George, UT, at the Stampin’ Up! Founder’s Circle Retreat, I continue my week of Pals guest stampers!  Demonstrator Nicole Watt, today’s guest stamper and a member of my Stampin’ Pretty Pals Virtual Community, shares a beautiful card using modeling paste (available at most craft stores) & ink refills.  Amazing!

Nicole embossed the Lullaby Designer Series Paper with the Chevron Embossing Folder using Versamark ink and Pool Party embossing powder.

For the Bermuda Bay cardstock strip towards the bottom of the card, she mixed some modeling paste with Blackberry Bliss Ink Refill. She punched a butterfly (Elegant Butterfly Punch) from some scrap cardstock and used dotto temporary adhesive to put it on the strip. Then using a spatula, she spread the modeling paste over the butterfly cutout and the rest of the strip.  Letting it dry overnight, she carefully removed the butterfly from the strip.

The final step was to mask off around the butterfly and stamp Kinda Eclectic with Versamark and embossed with Pool Party.

The sentiment is from the Good Greetings host set – also embossed with Pool Party.

WATCH THE VIDEO!  See more from Nicole including a short VIDEO on the modeling paste technique on her blog – Pixel Maven’s Retreat.

  1. Are they red rubber or polymer (clear)? For a general good cleaning, I like Stampin’ Up! Stampin’ Mist and our scrubber. If Stazon Ink was used, you may need a special Stazon cleaner.

  2. I bought a lot of stamps at a sale yesterday that have been well used. They definitely need a good cleaning. What is the best thing to clean them with?

  3. I’ve seen several videos on how to use this modeling clay and I’ve been hesitant to actually give it a try. Nicole’s video on how she made this beautiful and unique card looks simple and easy to do, the clay gives it a lot of texture and the fact that even after the clay dries it still wont crack makes it easy to mail.
Thank you Mary for having Nicole as your guest stamper while you are away and Thank you Nicole for creating this truly beautiful and colorful card to share with us today.
