Ohio Farmers Union to hold forum

A forum hosted by the Ohio Farmers Union (OFU) on September 22 will bring together scientists and agricultural experts looking for solutions to water quality issues in the Western Basin of Lake Erie.

“We want to see farmers, we want to see agency officials, we want to see legislators, because there is a great deal of discussion about what needs to happen, not only within the regulatory community, but what needs to happen out in the farm fields,” said Joe Logan, President of the Ohio Farmers Union.

Logan says with farmers dominating the landscape in the Western Basin, it’s important information on water quality and agriculture be “fact and science based.”

The forum will be held September 22 in Toledo, at Forrester’s on the River beginning at 1 p.m.
