Here we are! We’ve made it to full term! Even though I don’t quite understand how 37 weeks means I’m full term because a pregnancy is 40 weeks, but I digress…
Hey, look! It’s a picture NOT taken on my iPhone! My camera was out on my tripod because I was photographing a beauty tutorial (coming next week!) and thought I might as well just stand up and take a bump picture. And hey, same shirt from 35 weeks bump pic. Is it just me or is my face fatter all of a sudden? Or is it the angle? The tripod was definitely lower slightly pointed up, so maybe that’s why. Yep, I’m going to tell myself that’s why. And, in case you were wondering, this is what 37 weeks pregnant looked like with Kennedy. It’s hard to compare how I look then vs. now because camera phones tend to make you look a little skinnier. Haha. Anyway…
This Past Week:
- I feel like my belly has grown a lot in just a week. I’m definitely more uncomfortable, although I am still feeling pretty good. I feel huge, but I’m still getting comments here and there that I don’t look as far along as I say I am. My belly is measuring right on target at doctor appointments, so there’s that.
- I made it to the gym four times this week. I’m still having to go pretty slow and I can’t go that long, but at least I’m still there. Trust me, I am so not hardcore when I’m there. Haha.
- Some sciatic nerve numbness has started in my right leg.
- I’m just uncomfortable a lot.
- I’m out of breath all the time.
- I get more impatient quite frequently.
- Still tired. Been going to bed a little earlier, but yet again, here I am staying up late writing this post.
- I can eat a lot. But feel pretty uncomfortable when I do. Small and frequent meals are the better way to go.
- I’m still snoring like an old man. Greg always ends up in the guest room, or “his” room as he likes to call it.
- When we were leaving the restaurant on our anniversary date, a man outside asked, “boy or girl?” Told him it’s a girl, and he replied, “Oh NO!” I wanted to punch him, but instead I let out a super sarcastic “Uhhh…Okay!” and just kept walking with Greg. The same exact thing also happened to me while I was walking in the mall and some random dude at an annoying kiosk was trying to get my attention. Except his reply was “Ewww!!” I am pretty even-tempered and can handle sarcasm really well, but those comments just rubbed me the wrong way. I don’t get why people feel like they can just say whatever they want to a pregnant lady. Because saying that is totally going to magically change the sex organs of my unborn child. Way to go.
- I also don’t understand why people will ask us “So are you going to try for a third?” when I haven’t even gotten this child out of my uterus. I’ve also heard “Ah, two girls? Good for mommy, bad for daddy.” Greg has been asked really strange questions, as well. Why is the perfect world one child of each gender? My perfect world is two healthy ones. I know many of you can relate to this.
- I suppose this post is turning a little snappy, but cut me some slack. I’ve been butterflies and rainbows this whole pregnancy. (Hopefully Greg doesn’t read this because if he does, he will probably laugh out loud at that statement.)
- But for real, though. I’ve been blessed with a really easy pregnancy (again!) and it’s unreal that I have 18 days left of this pregnancy. Unless she decides to come sooner.
Happy Friday, friends!

It’s the angle, but it’s also just in your head. Yay for full term!

You look great!!! People make the rudest statements to pregnant women, it is unbelievable! As soon as we told people we were having another boy, they would say, “guess you have to try again for that girl”. Ummm, nope. Two healthy kids is all we wanted, so we are good with two boys!

I was just thinking that camera phones make you look skinnier last night. after maternity pics, and seeing a few on my photog’s camera i was like, ahh! then I took iphone pics and looked skinny. what the hay!

I cannot believe those comments! Little girls are wonderful! Goodness, people need to think before they speak!
Mama you are looking great and I cannot wait to see you with your second little precious girl 🙂

I don’t think you sound snappy at all. It’s realistic. My patience is getting really thin lately too, plus, people are so dumb with the things they say!!! The only acceptable things they should say are: Congratulations, I’m happy for you, You look great, and I love that name. Anything else and they usually end up with their foot in their mouth 😉

People say the weirdest things when you are pregnant! My MIL is already pressuring me for a second and my son is only 6 months old. She’s like oh you need to have another so you can try for a girl, it’s so annoying!!!

I just had my second girl last fall ( they are 25 mos. apart) I got those weird questions all the time too! Let me tell you- two girls are so much fun!! Really, the best! Just remember that when you get a comment like that again.

Oh I felt so witchy during pregnancy when I’d get super annoyed with people saying stupid things, but it really is amazing the inappropriate things people think are ok to say to pregnant women! Weird comments on the size of your belly or the way you’re carrying, people who express disappointment at the gender, people who expressed their disapproval that we even learned the gender- none of your business!! We didn’t share our name because I most definitely didn’t want people’s opinions on that, I’ve heard way too many rude people comment on an unborn baby’s name- umm hello? The parents were telling you their child’s name; not asking for your input on what it should be. People. Ugh. hah Clearly at 3 months post partum I’m not quite over it yet : ) Good luck on your final stretch!

Haha I’m glad I’m not alone here! It baffles me what people think they can say…. because I DON’T CARE. We haven’t shared baby’s name online and not really with the general public. I just don’t want those comments, because not like they’re going to change my mind anyway!
Niki says
Ugh people and their uncalled for comments! You look great though! And you are so inspiring to me for still continuing to get to the gym!

Seriously, people are DUMB! Haha. And I’m glad I’m an inspiration – although I must say I am totally not hardcore at this point. I ride the stationary bike and waddle on the treadmill. It’s just so hot here to even think about walking outside!!!
