Favorite First Class Seat On Delta 757 During Short Flight

Short flights in First class are different than international flights. The seats don’t recline anywhere near as much as the flat beds you typically find on the international or transcontinental routes. Plus they are short flights. So it places all more importance on selecting the right seat.

Favorite First Class Seat On Delta 757 During Short Flight

I like to sit as close to the front as possible in a window seat but not in the bulkhead for two reasons which I’ll explain in a moment.

First Class Seat On Delta 757

First and foremost, legroom is important reason why I do not select the bulkhead seat. Most of the bulkhead seats have carve out for your feet and a few have a carve out for basically your toes. Nowhere near the space of the under seat storage for rows not in the bulkhead.

Second, the service is quick on short flights and I like to partake in a little Woodford Reserve top shelf Bourbon during afternoon / evening / happy hour (when it’s 5 o’clock somewhere). So sitting closer to the front of the plan can help you refresh with a liquid libation a little quicker than in the back. Plus the second round May of May not happen if you are all the way in the back on a short flight.

Bottom Line

I really enjoy Delta’s First class service on short routes in any seat, but for me the best seat is in the front behind a bulkhead seat, in a window with a view.

  1. On the pictured 757 – seat 7B/C. Never had a problem being served (and on a short flight, probably don’t want a second round, but it’s usually offered), but most importantly, first off the plane through door 2L.

  2. I prefer an aisle seat the row behind the bulkhead. I don’t like my bladder being beholden to anybody.
