Chase Ink Cards Increased Sign Up Offer!

This post may contain affiliate links from our advertising partners. Read my Advertiser Disclosure policy here. Additionally, some of the offers on this page may no longer be available through Deals We Like.

UPDATE: This offer has expired.

This is a limited time promotion where the Chase Ink cards are offering an additional 10,000 points for new applicants who meet the minimum spend requirements:

  • Chase Ink Plus Business Credit Card: Earn 60,000 points after spending $5,000 within the first 3 months
  • Chase Ink Bold Business Charge Card: Earn 60,000 points after spending $5,000 within the first 3 months
  • Chase Ink Cash Business Credit Card: Earn 30,000 points after spending $3,000 within the first 3 months

This is a great offer for these three cards and a rare opportunity to earn this number of Chase Ultimate Reward points on one credit card sign up offer. New applicants of this card will also receive a Visa, not a MasterCard as it has been in the past (this changed back in the Fall of 2013). Additionally, many folks that already had the MasterCard were able to re-apply for one of these three cards and get the sign up bonus again if approved. There could be many reasons why you want two of the same card: 1) If you want to separate expenses for different businesses you have; 2) Benefits from the Visa Savings Edge Program, etc. Also, since all three card offers are different products, you are eligible to receive the sign up bonus on each individual card.

Chase Ultimate Rewards are one of my favorite currencies as the program is very flexible. You can either use your points through the travel portal or transfer them to partner loyalty programs (Chase Ink Plus and Bold) at a 1:1 ratio (with no fee!). These partners include:

  • United
  • British Airways
  • Korean Airways
  • Southwest
  • Virgin Atlantic
  • Hyatt
  • InterContinental Hotels Group
  • Marriott
  • Ritz Carlton
  • Amtrak

Points from a Chase Ink Cash account cannot be transferred directly to a loyalty program, but you can instead transfer them to a Chase Ink Plus or Bold account and then transfer them to a partner loyalty program.

How would I value 60,000 Chase Ultimate Reward points?

I’d personally value 60,000 Chase UR points at about $1,200. My personal favorite transfer value is to Hyatt, United, and British Airways. With these three partners I can get at least 2 cents per point. Of course it all depends on how you value your points, but if you’d prefer to use the “Pay for travel” option, those with the Chase Ink Bold and Plus card can redeem their points at 1 point = 1.25 cents towards the purchase of travel. This means that 60,000 points is equal to a minimum of $750!

What are the other benefits of these cards?

With these cards you earn a nice number of bonus points with popular spend categories, with the Chase Ink Bold and Chase Ink Plus you earn:

  • Chase 5x points per $1 on business expenses up to a maximum of 200,000 bonus points/$50,000 spent  (business expenses include: wireless communication services, cable and satellite television and radio services, office supply stores and wholesale distributors of office supplies)
  • 2x points per $1 at gas stations, hotels and motels up to a maximum of 50,000 bonus points/$50,000 spent
  • 1x points per $1 on all other purchases – no limit on points you can earn

With the Chase Ink Cash you earn:

  • 5x points per $1 on business expenses up to a maximum of 100,000 bonus points/$25,000 spent  (business expenses include: wireless communication services, cable and satellite television and radio services, office supply stores and wholesale distributors of office supplies)
  • 2x points per $1 at gas stations and restaurants up to a maximum of 25,000 bonus points/$25,000 spent
  • 1x points per $1 on all other purchases – no limit on points you can earn

Essentially, the Chase Ink Plus credit card and Chase Ink Bold charge card are very similar, but with one major difference – since the Chase Ink Bold is a charge card you must pay the balance in full each month, where the Chase Ink Plus is a credit card allowing you to pay the credit card over time (although there are high APR fees and I highly do not advise doing this!).

Overall, I highly recommend these cards. If you’ve been following this blog you are probably already well aware that the 5x points at office supply stores is huge! Especially now that you can purchase Visa gift cards online through Staples.com.

If I have a CSP and get the Ink Cash, can these be transferred to the CSP like a Freedom card can be?

Suppose I only JUST received a new Ink card in the mail YESTERDAY after signing up for the 50k bonus. Any chance I can get that extra 10k thrown in somehow?

@Joel – Absolutely! Sign into your Chase account and send them a secure message. Typically they will bump the bonus for you as long as you applied within the past 60 days. Include the link to the new offer as well.

I got the Ink Bold at the end of February and have spent about 6k on the card. I messaged Chase this AM asking for the additional 10k points and was approved within 2 hours. Points will post with next statement, but they’re available immediately. Nice!

I currently have a Ink Plus Mastercard. I wanted to apply for the Ink Plus Visa card to take advantage of the latest promo of 60,000 points. I decided to call up Chase to ask them if I apply and get approved for the Visa card will I receive the 60,000 bonus points. I talked with someone in customer service and a separate individual in applications. They both told me the same thing – no, I would not receive the bonus points as I already received bonus points with my initial Plus Mastercard and they said the same thing would apply even I were to be approved for a Bold card. Chase goes by your social security number in your applications. I decided to check the terms and conditions of the offer and it states the following:

“Chase cardmembers who currently have or have had a Chase credit card in any Rewards Program associated with this offer or have received a similar bonus offer, may not be eligible for a second Chase credit card in the same Rewards Program, or for any bonus offer. This one-time bonus offer is valid only for first-time cardmembers with new accounts. Previous and existing cardmembers/accounts are not eligible for this bonus offer.”

So for those who have applied for a 2nd card and received a 2nd bonus I would like to know how you got around the above? Thanks in advance for your help.
