Will Amazon Prime Save You Money?

amazon-prime-logoAmazon Prime is one of those things that I’ve always been interested in and truly enjoyed. If you’ve read over my past articles, you’ll see that I’ve mentioned Amazon Prime a lot. Typically, I suggest Amazon Prime to someone that’s going to cut their ties with their cable company in favor of streaming services, because Amazon Prime has a massive library of movies and television shows that you gain access to when you become a member. However, there are many other benefits to Amazon Prime. Today, I’m going to go over whether or not you should sign up for Amazon Prime, because a lot of you are curious as to if it’s even worth the membership fee.

Amazon is Typically Cheaper

You know, I’m all for supporting the local businesses in my area, but I’m also a frugal mom on a budget. Therefore, I have to do what’s best for me. Typically, I find the best deals on Amazon by a large margin. It’s really hard for any retailers, whether they be local or online, to compete with Amazon’s prices.

Free 2-Day Shipping Saves You Time and Money

This is one of the biggest benefits of Amazon Prime. Whatever you buy from their site is eligible for free 2-day shipping. If you do a lot of shopping through Amazon, you’re well aware of the fact that shipping and handling charges can really begin to add up over time. With free 2-day shipping, you’ll receive your items quicker and you won’t have to pay a dime for shipping.

Free Access to Tons of Steaming Movies and Television Shows

As I stated above, if you’re going to cut your ties with the cable company, you should definitely consider Amazon Prime. In my opinion, Amazon Prime is starting to give Netflix a run for their money. It honestly wouldn’t surprise me if Amazon Prime doesn’t become the go-to streaming moving service in the near future. The service is only going to improve in the future, so Netflix better watch out.

Amazon Prime is Free for Students

Are you a student? If so, you’re eligible to receive Amazon Prime completely free of charge, which is pretty awesome. Basically, all you have to do is have a .edu email account and you’ll be able to verify your account with Amazon to receive free access to Amazon Prime.

 Amazon Prime is Mom-Friendly

Amazon gives us moms some recognition with their Amazon Mom program. Basically, when you sign up for the program, you’ll be given a three month free trial membership to Amazon Prime. Typically, you only get a one month free trial. Also, you’ll get 20% off of things you need every single day in the Amazon baby store. I’ve gotten 20% off of diapers, wipes, etc…

Should You Get Amazon Prime?

If you shop from Amazon on a regular basis I would say that Amazon Prime is well worth the subscription price. You will be able to save a good bit of money, get your items delivered to your house faster and you’ll also gain access to a huge library of movies and television shows.
