Hotel Review: Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel, Vancouver

A few weeks ago, I headed up to Whistler, Canada for a ski trip but thought I would tack on a few nights before at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel in Vancouver.

I arrived at the Vancouver Airport and took the city’s public transportation, the SkyTrain directly from the airport to the last stop which is Waterfront, and the hotel was only a few minutes walk from there.

I had recently applied for the Fairmont Visa card so I had two free nights to use, so thought this would be a great hotel to use them at. Another perk of the card is you get Fairmont Premier status which comes with a complimentary suite upgrade so I used that in conjunction with my free nights and was able to book a nice one bedroom suite for free.

The hotel has a spacious lobby and featured live music both nights when I was there.

Another perk with this card was $100 in breakfast credits, so I decided to partake in the breakfast buffet one morning which offered a variety of dishes.

I was able to have them show me the Fairmont Gold Lounge one morning and it featured a nice selection of breakfast items.

Bottom Line

The Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel is probably one of the nicest hotels in Vancouver in my opinion, and a great place to use your free nights from the Fairmont Visa if you have that card.

The hotel also has several BMW house cars that will drive you anywhere within downtown, so I would recommend against renting a car if coming here since you can easily take the SkyTrain from the airport and then take advantage of these cars.

The hotel did have a nice lap pool and whirlpool and the gym was very spacious. Giving Fairmont Presidents Club members complimentary spa access is another nice benefit.

One night we did head out into the city and ate a great restaurant called Italian Kitchen, which I would highly recommend if anyone is looking for a restaurant suggestion.

Have you stayed here before? What were your thoughts on the hotel.

  1. Best Fairmont in Vancouver, but pricier than the F. Waterfont or F. Vancouver which have more cruise ship pax.
Views of the harbor and north shore are awesome. Also highly recommend the Rosewood Georgia for older world ambience.

  2. Really nice hotel, including the breakfast offerings and especially the BMW service. Unfortunately the hotel was nearly sold out by the time I booked (August 2013), so I couldn’t use the suite upgrade or even the room upgrade.

  3. My favorite Vancouver hotel. Stayed last year for 5 nights (2 free my card, 2 my husbands card, and one extra paid night). We were upgraded to a beautiful harbor view suite with 2 full bathrooms. After our 5 nights we stayed above the hotel in the private residences for 5 months. Best place to spend the summers when you want to escape the heat of South Florida. Really enjoyed seeing the photos of the gym, spa, hotel lobby, view. Can’t wait to get back there in 4 weeks. Love the spa access.

  4. Definitely one of the best Hotels in Vancouver. Check out the valet lot right outside the front doors. Always packed with some eye candy there for car enthusiasts.
