Get 1000 Bonus Miles For Your Room Preferences

PointsHound will give you 1000 bonus miles with your first hotel booking when you use my referral link. (Their standard referral bonus is just 250 miles.)

New or existing customers who book a 3-night stay by April 1 can earn an additional bonus 1000 miles for letting them know your room preferences. Seriously.

PointsHound wants you to know about their ‘premium concierge service’.

The day before your arrival at the hotel, our Concierge Team will send you an email asking for your specific room preferences..Respond to the email and we’ll contact the hotel on your behalf, get your room assignment, and make sure you’re all checked in when you arrive!

By taking advantage of this, they’ll give you 1000 bonus miles in the program you’ve chosen to earn miles with.

PointsHound (like Rocketmiles) lets you earn miles for the hotels you book for yourself and for others. You can currently choose from 16 currencies for your earning. I’d generally pick American or Alaska miles. But they’ll even let you take your rebate in bitcoin.

What I like best about PointsHound is that they offer ‘DoubleUp’ properties where you’ll still also earn hotel program loyalty points and credit towards elite status even though you’re booking through them instead of the hotel directly.

Always price compare, there are certainly some folks that have reported some times where PointsHound has shown higher prices than booking direct — though I have also seen PointsHound with (much) lower pricing than I could get elsewhere.

  1. Okay, I’ve been looking for a Double Up rate at ANY hotel on any date this year in the San Jose area. I fill in the date. I click search. I click on Filter. I select DoubleUp. I click Apply. I get a list. Click on the hotels in the list one by one and ALL of them say No Double Up rates available. WTF?

I can live with an occasional glitch, but this thing is fundamentally broken/unusable. Giving up.
