"Guys We Fucked:" The Anti Slut-Shaming Podcast That Everyone's Talking About
A sex-positive duo’s podcast is exploding in popularity as more and more women are challenging the culture of “slut shaming” in the United States. In an interview with the Huffington Post’s Emma Gray, Corinne Fisher and Krystyna Hutchinson opened a window into the duo’s thinking about sex and their podcast.
In December, Hutchinson and Fisher launched “Guys We Fucked, The Anti Slut-Shaming Podcast." Episodes feature the hosts talking about their sex lives. “We're saying, have a lot of sex and be proud of it," Hutchinson said in their debut episode.
The podcast goes against the dominant grain in U.S. culture, where any women who deviates from what is seen as a “normal” sex life gets called a slut.
“I think people are afraid. Hate stems from fear and I think they’re just afraid of a woman who is empowered and sexually in charge and in control of her own body,” explained Hutchinson. “We want to make people feel more comfortable in their own skin. We just got a message from a girl from New Delhi, India, about how she loves the podcast because it makes her feel like it’s OK to be comfortable with your sexuality and enjoy sex. And that made me so happy.”
They also said it’s a shame that people are afraid of being labeled a feminist. “I think to say that to be a feminist you can’t show off your body or be overtly sexual is bullshit. Jesus, if I can’t wear a miniskirt in my 20s, when can I?” said Fisher.
