I know! When you think CVS, you instantly think Vanilla Reloads, but this weekend we posted about the CVS Saturday Free Clif Bar Frenzy which is where you could order Clif Bars for free.

CVS Vanilla Reload

As a recap, CVS runs discounted specials from time to time. You can get some really good deals on everyday items or items that are great to take on the road. For example, today CVS is running a coupon for $2 off Any Vitamin purchase. Vitamins, who cares right? Not so fast. Many people found out that you could order 1 Cliff Crunchy Peanut Butter Energy Bar that retails for $1.87 per bar and comes with free shipping. These are great items to take with you on long trips, hikes, to beaches, or anywhere else when you need some nourishment.

CVS Update

However, today I received an email that my order was cancelled.

The email said,

Unfortunately, we were unable to fulfill your order. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Please note that your credit card has not been charged for this order.

If you have any questions or require further assistance, please contact us by email at customercare@cvs.com
or by phone at 1(888)607-4287.

Bottom Line

It appears that other people had their orders cancelled as well. You win some and lose some, but you never know unless you try.

Do you feel like they should honor these? I mean it was only $1.87 that they were losing so is it right for them to be able to cancel the order or should they have to stand behind it?

Comments

  1. I think they should honor one and only 1 cliff bar order from everyone. It was not intended to be used repeatedly by the same person.

  2. If one would expect “mistake fares” to be honored on airlines, then why not this?

Personally, I get really irritated when companies do not honor their commitments. For the record, I did not participate in this deal. However, an attitude like that just tells me the company does not care. There should be rules in place for such things (just like they are for mistake fares) so that the companies can deal with the consequences.

  3. Considering CVS is generous with their Vanilla Reload policy, everyone who manufacture spends should be thankful to CVS.

The day CVS clamps down on VR purchases, the day many people on FT/MP will cry 😉

  4. CVS did you a favor. Those so-called health bars are anything but. Don’t forget that pigs get fat but hogs…

  5. You can keep these bars as long as you keep selling me beans………c’mon folks perspective here……
