An escape room called Caspian P McSnooty's Gallery of Fine Art will open Oct. 12 at 1220 E. Brady St.

A new art gallery opening on Milwaukee's Brady Street is suspected of being a front for thieves — or at least that's the premise behind the city's newest escape room.

The escape room called Caspian P. McSnooty's Gallery of Fine Art will open at 1220 E. Brady St. on Oct. 12, according to a news release from the owner Thursday. The escape room will be operated by Save Milwaukee, which also runs two escape rooms in the Marshall Building at 207 E. Buffalo St., The Device and Tailgate.

Escape rooms feature adventure games where participants solve puzzles and riddles to complete tasks within a set time limit. Each escape room has its own storyline.

Here's how the game begins at Caspian P. McSnooty's Gallery of Fine Art, according to the release:

"There’s a new art gallery opening on Brady Street but it is suspected of being a front for a ring of thieves. They have a method of pinging credit cards in the pockets and purses of people as they pass by on the sidewalk to steal their identity. Teams of agents will have 60 minutes to look for evidence in the gallery’s artwork to prove this is really going on. But be careful — Save Milwaukee can help you get in the door, but after 60 minutes the police will come, and if the evidence hasn’t been found, you, the investigating agents, will be the ones in trouble."

At McSnooty's, players will "sneak into the art gallery on their own" using a code to the door sent by text message before the game begins. The Brady Street escape room costs $25 per person and can accommodate groups of up to 20 with riddles and puzzles designed for teamwork.
