This palette is named for Anastasia’s daughter, Norvina, who is also president of Anastasia Beverly Hills. She’s a huge Instagram star in her own right and it looks like the reason for the violet flock exterior is because Norvina tends to wear her hair a similar shade.
The top row is a shimmer selection (they’re very shimmery and remind me of Huda’s shimmer textures in their softness) and the bottom is mattes. The bottom row in particular is so, so pigmented. I always swatch with a sponge applicator and over time you come to know the difference in quality from that tool. It’s not the best method of picking up product but it gives more of a consistent line than a brush does and it’s also a remarkable indicator of quality. Too much talc in an eye shadow and the pick up is very poor with hardly any lay down, too oily and it clumps and buckles in the pan when you put the sponge to it. I have to say the bottom row mattes are exceptional… I barely needed to touch the sponge to the colour to get a full pigment swipe. The top row will perform far better with a brush – you can’t really give the finishing burnish with a sponge.

I think you can see how smooth these are – one swipe, no corrections, go-overs or adjustments… lovely! From bottom to top: Base, Soul, Incense, Love, Violate, Eccentric and Passion. It’s not a cheap palette at £43 (cheaper than the new CT and more colours.. just sayin!) and the more I play about with it, the more I like it. There is a brush included and it’s really a pretty good one – I’ve just put on Wild Child with it no problems at all. It’s HERE.

Been lusting after this, happy to hear that the mattes are so good! Jane are you still using the Olympus Pen E-PL6 Compact System Camera that you wrote about a few years ago? I’ve been looking at it and just wondered if you still like it? 🙂
I absolutely love it – I can’t imagine using anything else although mine is on its last legs now and I think I’m going to have to get a new one.
I have this pallette, love it, also have the soft glam one, which I like better for day to day wear
