Deputy: Woman fled Golden Gate park after hours, crashed stolen car into yard fence

Takaia Richardson, 18, was arrested following a high-speed pursuit ended in a crash, according to a police report.

A Collier County Sheriff’s Office deputy arrested a woman early Saturday after a high-speed pursuit that ended with a crash in Golden Gate.

Officials arrested Takaia Richardson, 18, of Immokalee, shortly after midnight and charged her with felony counts of high speed/reckless fleeing/eluding law enforcement officers and auto theft, as well as several misdemeanor, according to the arrest report.

A Collier deputy  reported noticing a white 2009 Nissan Altima parked at Aaron Lutz Park in Golden Gate after park hours, according to the report. Before the officer could get out, the Altima moved away quickly.

Richardson drove the Altima through several stop signs, into several yards and hit two mailboxes, damaging the left front tire, according to the deputy's report. Richardson then lost control of the car after several turns and it crashed into a wooden fence around a backyard, the report said.

Richardson exited the car and was arrested, the report states. Officers found the Altima was listed as stolen from Collier County’s Global Automall.
