FHP: Woman dies after crash at North Naples intersection; other driver hurt seriously

A woman died and a man had serious injuries after a crash in North Naples on Thursday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The woman's name had not been disclosed publicly by Friday evening because her family had not been notified, according to an FHP news release.

The woman was driving a Hyundai Genesis west on Orange Blossom Drive, approaching a traffic light at Airport-Pulling Road about 8:40 p.m., when the front of her car struck the left side of a Ford F-150, according to the release.

Julio C. Rodriguez Vazquez, 33, was driving the pickup north on Airport-Pulling Road,  approaching Orange Blossom Drive, when the crash occurred, FHP reported.

Vazquez was not wearing a seat belt, suffered serious injuries and was taken to a Collier County hospital, FHP stated.

The woman was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, said the Highway Patrol, which investigated the accident.
