One Key to Living Well

We know that one key to living well is loving God and reading the Word, but in the book of Ruth we see another key to living well. #Biblestudy #Ruth #WomensBibleStudy #GoodMorningGirls

There are many keys to living well.  Back in 2008, when this blog began, I named it Women Living Well because I believe that women will live well –when they are drinking from the living well — the living words of God.

So one key to living well is to love God and be in His Word!

But today – I’m talking about another key to living well – and it’s based on our reading in Ruth chapter 1.  So come join me on this short video to find out another key to living well!

So one key to living well is to love God and be in His Word.

Another key to living well —- I talked about in the video…(so be sure to watch!).

And a third key to living well is through loving relationships.  I recently heard a preacher say:

“our quality of life will only be as good as the quality of our relationships.”

This was a great point!

God commanded us to love Him with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength and then to love others.  God made us relational and God gave us these commands because He knew this is what is best for us.

In the book of Ruth, Ruth’s name means “friend” or “companion” and that is exactly what she was to Naomi.

The definition of a “friend” is: a person with whom one has a bond of mutual affection.

The definition of “companion” is: one that keeps another company.

Look at how deep the bond of mutual affection was between Ruth and Naomi.

15 And Naomi said, “See, your sister-in-law has gone back to her people and to her gods; return after your sister-in-law.” 16 But Ruth said, “Do not urge me to leave you or to return from following you.

For where you go I will go, and where you lodge I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God my God.17 Where you die I will die, and there will I be buried. May the Lord do so to me and more also if anything but death parts me from you.”

18 And when Naomi saw that she was determined to go with her, she said no more.

(Ruth 1:15-18)

Some qualities we see in their friendship are: faith, loyalty, kindness, humility, empathy, sacrificial love, patience, perseverance, and courage.

Look at this list – could these things be said of you in your friendships?

Which quality do you need to work on this week?

We will only have time and energy to invest in a limited number of close friendships in our lives.  So this week – let’s determine to remain in God’s Word, to go out of our comfort zones to remain inside the will of God and to be good to our friends!

Walk with the King,
