Man shot to death on northeast side, Indianapolis police say

A man was shot to death on the northeast side late Wednesday morning, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police said.

Officers responded to the 4000 block of East 38th Street on a report of a person shot just before noon. At the scene, police found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to an area hospital, where he died, police said.

Homicide detectives canvassed the area for witnesses. Additional details on the shooting weren't immediately available Wednesday evening.
