Woman's club staged month-long pajama party for the Nest

Sleepwear donation will kick-off Domestic Violence Awareness Month

  • Donations still accepted Monday, Sept. 24

Members of the Ruidoso Federated Woman's Club have staged a pajama party each Monday this month to benefit the Nest domestic violence shelter.

Taking a stand with Federated Women’s Clubs across the nation in support of October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the club will be donating the sleepwear for women and children as a kick-off  event.

Members of the Ruidoso Federated Woman's Club show off some of the sleepwear they have collected for the Nest.

On Monday, Oct. 1, a representative from the Nest will join club members for lunch and reception of the pajamas. That evening The Nest will sponsor a candlelight vigil at Wingfield Park.

The public is invited to participate in the effort and can drop off pajamas, slippers, robes, and other sheepwear from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday, Sept. 24, at the clubhouse, 116 S. Evergreen Street in Ruidoso.
