CNN's Bolduan Corners Pro-Kavanaugh Activist After She Calls Assault Allegation 'Boorish Horseplay'
CNN’s Kate Bolduan on Tuesday cornered Carrier Severino, a policy director at the Judicial Crisis Network, after she characterized Christine Blasey Ford’s allegation against Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh as “boorishness” and “rough horseplay.”
Severino was defending Kavanaugh as the judge prepares to testify before the Senate next Monday. Bolduan asked if Ford’s accusation—which includes the claim that Kavanaugh assaulted her at a party in Maryland when he was 17—is “disqualifying” if true.
Severino said Ford’s description of Kavanaugh’s attack ranges from “boorishness to rough horseplay to actual attempted rape.”
“I don’t think anywhere in there she’s saying this boorish horseplay at all in her letter,” Bolduan replied. “I don’t think that’s at all what she’s suggesting.”
“She’s certainly implying that it’s attempted rape,” Severino replied before insisting Ford described “a whole range of things.”
“We have to get all of the facts,” Severino insisted.
