Green Plains CEO addresses reports of plants ‘shutting down’

In an interview with Brownfield on Tuesday morning, Green Plains CEO Todd Becker addressed recent reports indicating two Green Plains ethanol plants in Iowa have been “shut down”.

“Reports of us ‘shutting’ an ethanol plant are absolutely untrue,” Becker says. “We have idled some plants back to just a warm idle, getting ready to restart at any moment. But other than that, this is just normal course for Green Plains in the market.”

Becker says Green Plains is simply reacting to market conditions.
