All-Male Senate Judiciary Committee Republicans Schedule Hearing for Kavanaugh Accuser – There’s Just One Major Problem
The all-male Republican majority of the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee on Monday agreed to allow federal appeals court judge Brett Kavanaugh and the woman accusing him of sexual assault and attempted rape, California professor Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, to testify.
They announced that next Monday, Dr. Blasey Ford and Judge Kavanaugh will testify before the Committee.
There's just one problem.
They assumed she would on command.
Dr. Blasey Ford hasn't said she is able to drop her work as a law professor and travel literally across the country to testify before the Senators, with just one week's notice.
"Fox is told that the majority on the Senate Judiciary Committee last night reached out to counsel for Christine Ford to invite her to Monday’s additonal hearing with Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. But she has not responded as yet," Fox News congressional reporter Chad Pergram revealed Tuesday morning.
Note that "last night" is after they announced she would testify at next Monday's hearing.
The all-male group of Senators just assumed Blasey Ford would be able to drop everything because they scheduled a hearing and said she would be there.
