South Dakota crops ahead of last year

South Dakota crops are progressing faster than last year.

Corn maturity reached 44 percent as of Sunday, 31 percentage points ahead of 2017. The crop is rated 63 percent good to excellent.

Soybeans dropping leaves reached 68 percent, 22 percentage points ahead of last year. South Dakota soybeans are rated 60 percent good to excellent.

The sorghum crop is 68 percent good to excellent.

Pastures are rated 42 percent good to excellent and winter wheat is 29 percent planted.
