Missouri harvest percentages ahead of last year

Twenty-five percent of Missouri’s corn crop has been harvested, ahead of 12 percent last year and soybean harvest began earlier this season.

Corn maturity reached 81 percent as of Sunday, 20 percentage points ahead of the five-year average. Only about 30% of Missouri corn is rated good to excellent because of the drought.

Soybeans coloring reached 60 percent, 19 percentage points ahead of the average. Less than half of the state’s soybean crop is rated good to excellent, 19 percentage points below the average.

Missouri cotton is 56 percent good to excellent and the sorghum crop is 37 percent good to excellent.
