Boots Own Brand Skincare Review

Skincare has went from something I only used to dabble with to a full blown obsession. I went from the girl who would only apply moisturiser when she remembered, to now pouring over ingredients and cringing at the thought of ever leaving the house without moisturising. Over the years I have learnt that a hefty price tag doesn't always equate to great quality nor stellar ingredients so when I do find a skincare bargain that is result driven I want to shout about it from the rooftops. Enter Boots Expert Skincare Range, an expansive yet utterly affordable line up that contains products for every skin type and of course budget. As it is a fairly large collection I have whittled down my top five picks for Normal skin but rest assure what ever your complexion needs, there will be a product or two suitable within the Boots Expert Skincare Range for you.

Boots Own Brand Skincare Review

Although Boots Expert Normal Cleansing Lotion (£2.50) is aimed at those with a normal complexion thanks to the nourishing avocado oil ingredient, I would say that it is suitable for Dry and maybe sensitive skin types too. The gentle lotion quickly removes any traces of dirt and general grime as well as refreshing and soothing the skin making it perfect for a morning cleanse. If you find certain methods of cleansing to strip the skin of moisture then this should be your next purchase as the lotion formula is slightly more hydrating than your typical cleanser - it also doubles up as a toning product saving you both time and money! As a side note, as this is a non-rinse formulation it is the perfect option to pop into your travel bag to cleanse on the go, it is also a wonderful alternative to cleansing wipes and idea for lugging to the gym too!

What is the quickest and most effective way to brighten the complexion? With a facial scrub of course. If you have dull skin, add a facial exfoliant to your routine and I can all but promise you will see a huge difference immediately. Budget or not, the Boots Expert Normal Facial Scrub (£2.50) is quite the find; it is gentle yet effective, quickly removing not only daily dirt and grime but making light work of buffing off dead and dry skin cells without overworking the skin. Unlike other facial scrubs the Boots Expert Normal Facial Scrub is tough enough to tackle even waterproof make-up but again thanks to the addition of Avocado Oil it ensures the skin is cocooned in moisture every step of the way.

For those like myself who often wear a lot of make-up and SPF and find that not every cleanser really leaves the skin feeling "clean" there is a quick and simple solution within the Boots Expert Skincare Range and that is the Boots Expert Normal Foaming Face Wash (£2.50). This gentle and of course foam based product gently yet swiftly removes every scrap of make-up (yes that includes heavy foundation) without leaving my complexion feeling parched nor uncomfortable, which I again credit to the addition of Avocado Oil within the formula. This is a great option for everyone and that includes teens, if you are looking for a quick yet effective way to cleanse the skin this is the one to pop in your boots basket next!

5 Essentials: Boots Own Brand Skincare

I've recently switched my beauty routine up a little, swapping out primer in place of a more nourishing day cream. I realise that for some it doesn't have to be an either or situation but my skin was beginning to hate me via huge clusters of blemishes for relying on silicone bases and as such I had to make a change. Weirdly the answer has been Boots Expert Normal Day Cream, the deeply hydrating yet non-greasy formula not only comforts, soothes, nourishes and of course moisturises my skin but I find that when used under make-up it helps to keep everything in place and it also offers the added bonus of SPF15 protection.

Never, ever did I imagine that I'd find an eye cream for £2.50 that I would be able to rave about about and yet here we are. If you purchase one thing from this post, let it be the Boots Expert Normal Hydrating Eye Cream (£2.50) - I swear by it. Again this is a gentle yet effective formula that quickly hydrates the skin without leaving behind any greasy residue and although not an anti-ageing product, I have found that it does plump fine lines. The beauty of this product is that it is fragrance-free, so many eye creams irritate my eyes due to heavy fragrance. Try it and tell me you aren't converted.
