About the author: Donahue B. Silvis is an alumnus of the renowned Pasadena Playhouse. He graduated from Florida Atlantic University, majoring in film study and creative writing. As a member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG), he has worked in movies as an actor and screenwriter. He has written six novels, three screenplays and one illustrated children's book. Now retired, he continues writing and promoting his novels and screenplays, while residing in Naples with his wife, Katie.

About the book: "Polly, Stubby & Al," a children's reader, is a true story about a family and their three pets. It takes place in the 1920s and is based on the author's grandparents and their two daughters, his mother and his aunt. Polly is a multicolored talking parrot, Stubby is a lovable, bowlegged English bulldog and Al is a wild black crow that, once he learns to speak, turns out to be the funniest and most mischievous of them all. Together the pets create chaos, anxiety and many hilarious situations for their owners.
