The north beach at Harrington Beach State Park is great for sunbathing.

A man remains missing and a woman is dead after going for a swim in Lake Michigan at Harrington Beach State Park Monday.

Search and rescue efforts have been resumed in an effort to find Ahmad Adl, 34, of Franklin, Lt. Marshall Hermann of the Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office said in a news release Tuesday.

Another swimmer, 32-year-old Paige Berndt of Milwaukee, died Monday evening from the injuries sustained from the incident, Hermann said. An autopsy was performed Tuesday morning at the Milwaukee County medical examiner's office.

Search and rescue efforts had been suspended for Adl about 7:45 p.m. Monday because of low visibility and hazardous weather and water conditions.

According to the Sheriff's Office:

The department received a 911 call about 1:10 p.m. Monday after five people went for a swim in Lake Michigan at the state park in the Town of Belgium.

Four made it out of the lake.
