USDA FSA declares number of Iowa, Missouri counties eligible for drought relief

The USDA’s Farm Service Agency has declared 25 counties in Missouri and Davis County, Iowa primary disaster areas because of an ongoing drought.

Most neighboring counties in Iowa, Missouri, and Kansas are also eligible to receive emergency loans through the FSA, with an application deadline of April 1st, 2019.

The eligible Missouri counties are Adair, Andrew, Atchison, Audrain, Boone, Buchanan, Caldwell, Carroll, Chariton, Clark, Clinton, Cooper, Daviess, DeKalb, Gentry, Grundy, Harrison, Holt, Howard, Jackson, Knox, Lafayette, Linn, Livingston, Macon, Mercer, Monroe, Nodaway, Pettis, Platte, Putnam, Randolph, Ray, Saline, Shelby, Sullivan, and Worth.

In addition to Davis County, Iowa, eligible contiguous counties are Appanoose, Decatur, Jefferson, Monroe, Page, Ringgold, Van Buren, Taylor, Wapello, and Wayne.

Eligible contiguous counties in Kansas are Atchison and Doniphan.
