T.J. Maxx is the anchor store for the Spring Mall shopping center that may get rejuvenated at 76th Street and Cold Spring Road in Greenfield.

GREENFIELD - The Spring Mall shopping center may not be your father's Spring Mall. It's going to need something to revitalize it.

The Kroeger Company's lease of the vacant Pick 'n Save store in the shopping center will expire soon, and the Brixmor Property Group, the mall's owner, has indicated it's interested in redeveloping the entire site, according to city officials.

Kristen Moore, senior vice president of marketing for Brixmor, provided a statement: "We are currently in preliminary planning stages to redevelop Spring Mall to best meet the needs of the community."

"Plans are conceptual at this stage. Still exploring options," she said. It's too preliminary to share details, she said.

Currently, Spring Mall is roughly two-thirds empty. Available space totals 122,727 square feet with 66,132 square feet occupied, according to Brixmor online information.

The anchor store is T.J. Maxx with 32,658 square feet. There are two other stores and a restaurant. They are Walgreens, 16,940 square feet, Sally's Beauty Supply, 2,146 square feet, and Meyers Family Restaurant, 14,388 square feet, according to the online information.
