Summer dining specials

Bleu Provence, 1234 Eighth St. S. in Naples, has summer bar specials and early dining daily.

The $35 three-course prix fixe dinner menu includes a selection of appetizers, entrees and desserts at the locally owned French restaurant. The special is offered 5 to 6:30 p.m. every day. Reservations must be made for no later than 6:15 p.m. and orders must be placed before 6:30 p.m.

Appetizer options include soup du jour, salads, smoked salmon and quiche Lorraine. Entrée choices include sautéed wild pink Argentinian shrimp, Mediterranean or Chilean sea bass, duck leg confit and pork shank. Desserts include chocolate lava cake, vanilla bourbon crème brulee, chocolate profiteroles, warm pear frangipane tart, crepe Suzette, lemon tart meringue and more.

In addition to early dining, happy hour is offered 5 to 7 p.m. daily at the bar with $5 small bites and drink specials. Also during happy hour, a special with quiche and a glass of featured wine is offered at the bar for $8.99. A complimentary glass of featured wine is available with any entrée from 5 p.m. to close Sundays and Mondays at the bar.

The French Brasserie Rustique, 365 Fifth Ave. S., Naples, has a 2 for $22 lunch special until the end of summer.

Every day from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. until the end of the season, enjoy two courses of classic French brasserie favorites, lighter fare and coastal dishes prepared with a rustic twist from Chef Vincenzo Betulia and his team. 

The menu includes first-course choices of French onion soup, gazpacho, deviled farm eggs and caviar, a green salad or a steak tartare baguette. Second-course options include garganelli pasta with Serrano ham, peas and cream; steamed mussels; Croque Madame with Mornay sauce and a fried farm egg; chicken salad croissant; duck leg confit; and a bacon and onion tart.

Weekend brunch specials

La Colmar Bakery & Bistro, 80 U.S. 41 in Naples, has a weekend brunch special for Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 18-19, with a slice of quiche and a side salad for $7.99.

The next weekend, Aug. 25-26, the bistro has glasses of house wines, draft beers or mimosas made with freshly squeezed orange juice for $5.

Dinner music encore

Chez Boet will host an encore performance of Florida State University College of Music student Hunter McDaniel from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18.  McDaniel, a graduate of Naples High School who studies piano and composition at FSU, will be joined by flutist Cobby Brzeski, a Naples native who is a recent graduate of Berklee College of Music.

French-speaking lunch

Parlez-vous français? Alliance Française de Naples President Denyse Jenkins invites all individuals who are interested in chatting in French to “La Table Française” at noon Wednesday, Aug. 22, at La Colmar Bistro & Bakery, 80 U.S. 41 N., Naples.

Summer grilling menu

Burntwood Tavern’s summer grilling menu is available through Aug. 26. The limited-time menu includes gazpacho, whole roasted chicken, smoked pork chop, shrimp and steak kabobs, a beef brisket sandwich or quesadilla, and pineapple upside-down cake. The Cucumber Cooler summer cocktail is made with vodka, cucumber, mint and fresh lemon and lime.

The restaurant also now opens at 10 a.m. Saturday and Sundays for its brunch and Bloody Mary Bar, which run until 3 p.m.

Applebees’s Grill + Bar locations in Florida have added the Strawberry Dollarita to its summer menu. The Margarita is $1 during August.

Also during the seasonal celebration, Applebee’s is offering $8 Mucho Frosé or frozen rosé wine made with Cupcake Rosé and real strawberries for a limited time only.
